b'Brig. Gen. Patrick R. Michaelis grew up in a military family and was commissioned into the Army in 1993. He has held numerous positions of leadership in the Army and has also had deployments in Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan. Michaelis was also an Assistant Professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York where he taught leadership and management in the Department of Behavioral Sciences.\\n\\nIn the summer of 2022, he became Commander at Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC. Fort Jackson trains 60 percent of all the Army\\u2019s basic combat training load.'
