We wear the cross nowadays with pride. We wear it as fashion. We have cross jewelry, cross art, cross graphics in shirts, we have beautiful and exquisite crosses at home, in our churches and in our pop culture. Yet if a first-century Jew sees how we depict the cross, he or she will say it is a far cry from how they regard it back then.
