On today\u2019s show I talk about focusing on inclusion and belonging, which is Pillar #2 from my new book, We\u2019re All in This Together: Creating a Team Culture of High Performance, Trust, and Belonging.\xa0 Inclusion is about having respect for and appreciation of the differences of everyone on our team, and belonging is about creating an environment in which everyone knows they\u2019re an integral part of the group.\xa0 Belonging is a fundamental human need.\xa0
These things are essential to the health, culture, and success of our teams (and any group), and they\u2019re often difficult to address authentically for a number of reasons.\xa0 It takes willingness, awareness, and courage for us to both engage in authentic conversations about inclusion and belonging, and to actually move things in a positive direction on these fronts.\xa0 And, if our teams are going to thrive, we must be willing to do this important work together in an on-going and effective way.
