Am I Really An Entrepreneur? with Lowell McKelvey

Published: Sept. 9, 2020, 3:54 p.m.

Lowell McKelvey with MKB Lawyers feels he doesn’t quite fit the definition of entrepreneur because he isn’t innovative like Elon Musk. And that is what makes Lowell a great attorney, always questioning every definition of a word. Attorneys who break away from traditional corporate law to hang their own shingle by nature innovative as they share greatly in the entrepreneur dilemma! How to do what you love or your practice and still run the business side of things is the universal question being asked by every business owner every day of every minute. Like so many, Lowell was comfortable in someone else’s firm, financial security was everything. However, it took a friend to kick him in the caboose to take the leap as the big corporate firm began to decline as the aging partners started to retire. Although uncertain, Lowell started to write down his goals and in that seemingly small act he found that his big goals got him through the bumps and it’s the big goals that keeps his focus. He loves the freedom and will never look back even though there are ups and downs. Freedom is what drives him. He was told it would take a good five years to really get to a comfortable place and he now believes it. Five years seems like a long time but Lowell encourages all to just do it. “Just freaking do it!” Enjoy Lowell and let your hearts not be troubled as you take the leap into freedom or as you struggle with holding onto freedom.
