She wanted to travel, serve, have a study paycheck, and join something bigger than her. There she served as an undesignated fireman. She initially had no idea when she signed up for the Navy. So, she went and explored what she can do. Life in Transition After two years, however, Justine faced a medical discharge for an incurable disease. Being just 19 years old, it was a tough time for her. She had no plans apart from the military.    “This isn’t the path that I hoped for, but maybe I can do something with this.” -Justine Evirs It was a matter of meeting her needs outside the military. She went to the community college, and eventually stayed in Virginia. Service in Higher Education Justine met her husband shortly after her transition. She has been travelling around as a military spouse since then. For almost 7 years now, she has been working in military higher education. She always gravitated towards it. She remembers what it was like having no clues on what to do. Download and listen to College Application Counseling Service to School with Navy Veteran Justine Evirs .
