b'Jeff McChesney is the founder of Patriot Growth Capital, a company dedicated to helping veteran entrepreneurs maximize their business growth potential through access to people, capital and business advice. He\\u2019s also the founder of Target Arm LLC which is developing systems to recover UAS and UAV\\u2019s.\\nJeff McChesney - Educational Path\\nJeff started at the Air Force Academy and received an aeronautical engineering degree.\\xa0 He then received his masters\\xa0from Columbia University on a Guggenheim Fellowship.\\xa0 After receiving his masters, he then entered pilot training. \\n\\nIn the Air Force, Jeff was an F-15 fighter pilot, a commander at various levels therefore a great setup for the rest of his life. \\n\\n\\u201cI ended up hiring a firm that worked specifically and directly for me.\\u201d Jeff McChesney on making the transition to civilian life\\n\\nIt\\u2019s not an ordinary course, about 10-15\\xa02nd Lieutenants get chosen to continue their education at other universities. These schools include Columbia, Yale, Syracuse. There are schools all across the country and around the world as well.\\nLife After the Air Force\\nHe had a tremendous career in the Air Force where he stayed there just under 21 years. He transitioned out due to family illness and had to make some tough decisions about his career versus family and he chose to go with family.\\n\\nJeff had to make a very abrupt change out of the Air Force. At the time of his retirement, he was serving on the J5 joint staff of strategy plans and policy in Washington DC. \\nLaying the Groundwork\\nEarly in his career he had attended Harvard University to prepare himself for his career post-Air Force and whatever that might be. One of the areas he chose was how to use process improvement, accounting systems. He took a lot of that education and banked it.\\n\\nAt the transition point in his career, he needed to make the jump but did not want to end up being a defense contractor. That just wasn\\u2019t what he had in mind for himself. He had lobbying capability having worked on Capitol Hill twice but he wasn\\u2019t interested in that path.\\n\\nHe really wanted to get into business.
