Troy joined the National Guard at 17, as soon as he could, and wound up in artillery. Although he thought he wanted to be an attorney and studied to be one, his training transferred well to accounting which really set him up for business. He also used the stress of military life to his advantage when launching into business. He was doing taxes with a firm and decided to go out on his own. And as Troy says, it worked until it didn't. Then he had to think; how would his accounting background work with helping people? Trucking hit him like a bolt.
