#20 Entrepreneur: Cure Thyself - Arron Barnes, Life Butta

Published: Feb. 27, 2019, 10 p.m.

An older brother in the military, sending gifts from overseas, sold Arron on the service by the sixth grade. Joining at 18, he dealt with computer operations and wound up in Korea during Desert Storm, which added to his time there. It set him up for a data services career, but the stress took it's toll, partly in the form of insomnia. He finished his service, went out into the world and used his data operations skills to get employment. Along the way, he developed a case of Candida, a gut fungus not easy to cure. He had to self-diagnose, not having health insurance, so he began a strict diet, then got tired of the dry nuts. He started mixing them with almond butter and a new recipe was born - Life Butta.\n\nVeteran Founder Podcast with your hosts Josh Carter and Carmen Nazario\n\nWe record the Felony Inc Podcast inside NedSpace in the Bigfoot Podcast Studio in beautiful downtown Portland.\n\nAudio engineer, mixer and podcast editor is Allon Beausoleil\n\nShow logo was designed by Carolyn Main\n\nWebsite was designed by Cameron Grimes\n\nProduction assistant is Chelsea Lancaster\n\nTheme music: Artist: Tipsy Track: Kadonka Album: Buzzz Courtesy of Ipecac Records\n\n10% of gross revenue at Startup Radio Network goes to support women entrepreneurs in developing countries thru kiva.org/lender/markgrimes\n\nListen to the Veteran Founder Podcast live on-air every Friday at 1:00pm pacific time on Startup Radio Network at startupradionetwork.com
