Too Opinionated Interview: Samantha Wan

Samantha Wan is an award winning\xa0filmmaker. This year she has received\xa0her second nomination for a Canadian\xa0Screen Awards for Best Director, TV\xa0movie for Love At Sky Gardens. Her\xa0first CSA nomination was for her\xa0ground breaking television series\xa0Second Jen. The show ran for three\xa0seasons on OMNI/City TV\u2019s and was
nominated along side major shows\xa0such as Schitt\u2019s Creek and Workin'\xa0Moms in 2019. Samantha was co-\xa0creator, writer, star and directed half\xa0the final season.

At 23 she became one of the youngest\xa0creators to have a prime time series in\xa0Canada.

As a filmmaker, Samantha was also\xa0commissioned to create OMNI TV\u2019s first\xa0original digital series, Sudden Master.\xa0The Kung Fu series accumulated\xa0numerous awards around the world,\xa0including Best Action Series, Woman\xa0With A Vision Award, and a Rockie\xa0Nomination for Best Digital series. She\xa0also won Best Director at the Sydney\xa0Webfest for her work on Lady Ada\u2019s
Secret Society a digital series for\xa0Marble Kids Media.\xa0

As an actor Samantha has played\xa0several beloved characters on\xa0television including Zoe Chow on\xa0Global Television\u2019s hits series Private\xa0Eyes for four seasons and is currently a\xa0regular cast member on CBC\u2019s comedy\xa0Run the Burbs as Cathy Tan.
