131: ELLIE Laks of The Gentle Barn
ELLIE Laks, founded the SantaClarita, CA nonprofit animal rescue known as The Gentle Barn in 1999. Ellie and Gentle Barn rescue sick and abused animals and bring them back to The Gentle Barn where they are rehabilitated and live out the rest of their lives in peace and comfort. Once rehabilitated the animals help teach Gentle Barn program participants about compassion, care and gentle handling. Ellie has just released her first book entitled "My Gentle Barn- Creating a Sanctuary Where Animals Heal and Children Learn to Hope."
