Tips For Persevering Through This Pandemic

 • Run the right race —Entrepreneurship today isn’t a sprint or even a marathon, it’s more like a decathlon.

 • Focus on cash — right now, your marketing isn’t about being cool, it’s about staying afloat; there will be no white knights and silver bullets, you are the only one who can make or break your business; don’t count on help. (If you get it, it’ll be a boon!)

 • Cut deeper than you think — easy to say and hard to do but failure to cut spending deeply now, can create regret later.

 • Tap your customer base — they are the most reliable source of business you have and skip the middleman for any transaction; go direct.

 • Find your pivot for the future by asking the question: Therefore what? — this is probably my favorite of Guy’s tips from our interview.

“YOU CANNOT DO AN APPLES TO APPLES TRANSLATION OF WHAT YOU WOULD DO IN FRONT OF A ROOM IN A SPEECH, ON VIRTUAL, IT DOES NOT WORK.”

Today’s most successful CEOs, executives and enterprises set their sights on developing a long-term rather than a short-term strategy for building their personal and business brands.

My latest book The Brand Mapping Strategy: Design, Build and Accelerate Your Brand, really helps entrepreneurs, business owners, CEOs, and executives create their brands by design rather than by default. It also helps them gain greater influence in their industries and companies by becoming thought leaders in their field.
