\nDr. Yan Zhou is a leading Chinese art historian and Visual Resources Curator at Kenyon College. He teaches courses on Asian art history with a particular emphasis on modern and contemporary Chinese art. His research focuses on Chinese contemporary art in the context of globalization and post-colonialism. He has published widely in Chinese scholarly journals and in English in such journals as Yishu: Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art. His most recent book, A History of Contemporary Chinese Art, is a comprehensive and insightful history of Chinese art in the most turbulent period of its five-thousand-year-long history.
