\nIn this episode, we examine transitional justice within the context of the Truth, Reconciliation and National Unity Commission (TRNUC) in Seychelles. The TRNUC was mandated in 2018 to investigate alleged human rights violations committed during, or in relation to, the Coup D\u2019\xe9tat of June 5, 1977. Through ascertaining the truth of alleged human rights violations, the TRNUC aims to unite the people of Seychelles and ensure non-recurrence of human rights violations. We consider the arguments surrounding truth commissions by discussing the work of the TRNUC thus far and the challenges posed by the current Seychelles government.
