\nAn introduction to the $370 billion Federal Inflation Reduction Act and what its benefits could be for Hawaii residents.  This legislation provides energy production tax credits, energy investment credits, and funding to agencies for grants and loan programs to incentivize clean energy development.  For example, there are tax credits for residential energy systems up to 30% of costs, heat pumps, and efficiency improvements that Hawaii homeowners may be eligible to receive.  There are also transportation subsidies for the purchase of electric vehicles.  A handy calculator program is introduced that will allow taxpayers to estimate how much they are eligible to receive based on income and other criteria.
