Listening to Sexual Violence Survivors.  The host for this show is Jay Fidell.  The guest is Mariana S\xfcssmann.
\n
\nJay Fidell and Mariana S\xfcssmann discuss the complexities of listening to the testimony of sexual violence survivors, mainly in scenarios of transitional justice. The historical approach to this kind of narrative has been focused on the damage, the horror, and the perplexity of the events. In this sense, the victim's subjectivity is overseen and (re)instrumentalized to expose the cruelty of the survived transgressions. The alternative testimony opens the possibility of an encounter with a human being that, further than the facts, reconstructs and reappropriates its body while telling its story on its own terms.
