\nAs Hawaii\u2019s restaurants and food service establishments struggle with reduced sales  and employee shortages. We are now challenged by the supply chain disruption the COVID pandemic has created. To assist our restaurant & food service industry the Hawaii Restaurant Association a is requesting an industry exemption from the City and County of Honolulu on Bill 40.  Restaurants do want to be compliant. We all live here in paradise and we understand that we need to protect our Aina. The bottom line is that manufacturers cannot get the materials to create food service ware. This shortage of materials is affecting our manufacturers who cannot get a steady flow of products. This impacts our healthcare facilities, our schools, the military and anyone in the foodservice industry.
