The American Indian Movement member maintains his innocence and wants to return home to live his remaining days with his great-grandkids and his indigenous peoples.  Peltier is considered a prisoner of conscience by Amnesty International.  Even Pope Francis and the Dalai Lama protest his imprisonment and request his immediate release.
