Where Can Hong Kong Go Now.  The host for this show is Jay Fidell.  The guest is Michael Davis.
\n
\nBeijing has brutally advanced the 2047 return of Hong Kong to China, and it has changed the open character of the city to full-tilt repression in the space of only a few years.  Civil liberties and particularly freedom of speech and the press has been crushed, and as a result Hong Kong has lost its vitality, creativity and appeal to the world.
\n
\nMichael Davis, who lived and taught in Hong Kong for many years, and who has written about it over the years and recently published an important article in the Journal of Democracy dealing with this repression, helps us understand what has happened, what is happening now, what we are left with, and what we can expect from and about Hong Kong going forward.
