\nPeople see themselves: the good, the bad, and the in-between. If their self-image is mostly good, if they feel they are increasing their positive attributes and decreasing their negative attributes, they tend to feel satisfied, happy. This is very difficult in a world seen as increasingly negative with little they can do about it. In a world caught in a pandemic, whose climate is changing dangerously, a divisive world where war is a constant threat, more people are subject to depression, anxiety, and feelings of hopelessness. People need to feel better about themselves. They need to feel hope that things will get better, that they can help.
