\nCarbon dioxide emissions are the prime cause of climate change.  The most effective action is to remove CO2 from the atmosphere and transform it into a useful product that lasts for centuries. Some cement companies are injecting liquid CO2 into concrete mixing batches where it mineralizes into calcium carbonate, a strong stable compound that hardens concrete.  (Interestingly, calcium carbonate may be taken as a supplement to harden bones, and is closely related to baking soda.)  The CO2-strengthened concrete reduces the volume needed to achieve required strengths, resulting in a lower carbon footprint and lowering transport weight and volume. CO2-stregthened concrete also reduces the "cure time" needed to harden the concrete mix to the required moisture content, reducing construction time. CO2 can comprise up to 20% of the volume of concrete. Energy CO2 has already been removed by one carbon concrete company to remove from the atmosphere CO2 equivalent to 53 million cars.
