\nRegional and international mechanism are very important to enforce international human rights law. However, they primarily serve as complementary to the domestic mechanism. In cases involve mass human rights violations domestic mechanisms are very important because it allows victims to actively participate in the proceedings. PEJ through its Sudan hub and other partners assisted to bring a case and convict nine members of paramilitary group in Sudan who killed peaceful student protestors in Sudan.
