- Fractal Audio FM9 (Stinger: Strymon Volante) 00:17:24

- Double the processing power of the FM3, but still not as strong as the rack mount Axe FX3

- The FM3 came out last year and has 3 footswitches so it was often compared to the HX Stomp. The FM9 has 9 switches and looks like the one to get if you don’t want/can’t afford the Axe FX3

- So it’s got all the stuff, we don’t need to tell you how great Fractal gear is.

- No built in expression of any kind but of course can receive expression pedals.

- Personally, I think the FM9 is the one you want. It does all the stuff most people need and includes footswitches so you don’t need the rack unit plus a controller to gig with it.

- I think Fractal was losing ground to Helix/Kemper/Headrush when it came to pedalboard designed modelers that could be used in all settings.

- FM3 is $1100, FM9 is $1600, and Axe FX3 MKII is $2300.

- When does a pedalboard get so big or complicated that it ceases to be useful anymore?

- Collective stress around gigs/concerts with Delta variant growing concerning. Venues requiring proof of vaccination or a negative test.
