\nVERSE: 1 CORINTHAINS 9:24-27; 24\xa0[g]Do you not know that in a race all the runners run [their very best to win], but only one receives the prize? Run [your race] in such a way that you may seize the prize\xa0and\xa0make it yours!\xa025\xa0Now every athlete who [goes into training and] competes in the games is disciplined\xa0and\xa0exercises self-control in all things. They do it to win a\xa0[h]crown that withers, but we [do it to receive] an imperishable [crown that cannot wither].\xa0

\n

26\xa0Therefore I do not run without a definite goal; I do not flail around like one beating the air [just shadow boxing]. \xa027\xa0But [like a boxer] I strictly discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached [the gospel] to others, I myself will not somehow be disqualified [as unfit for service]. \nPut On the New SelfCOLOSSIANS 3: 1-4; 3\xa0Therefore if you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, sharing in His resurrection from the dead], keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.\xa02\xa0Set your mind\xa0and\xa0keep focused\xa0habitually\xa0on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value].\xa0

\n

3\xa0For you died [to this world], and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.\xa04\xa0When Christ, who is our life,\xa0[a]appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. (AMP)\n\n
