An article By Susan Jacoby in the New York Times about atheism entitled It is Here and It Is Now suggests, among other things, that the absence of an afterlife lends a greater, not a lesser, moral importance to our actions on earth. Tonights discussion will also include Doestoevsky's story within the Brothers Karamazov "The Grand Inquisitor."
