What Screen Time Does to Our Kids (and What We Can Do about It)

Computers, laptops, tablets, phones, iWhatever, big screen T.V.s, portable players \u2013 not to mention the infinite libraries of apps, Netflix, Hulu and (of course) the Internets. Let\u2019s face it. All those Baby Einstein DVDs seem quaint compared to everything a kid could do on a smart phone these days.

With their phones, computers, T.V.s and other gadgets, teenagers\u2019 tech use might be well over eleven hours a day of screen time, according to a Kaiser Family Foundation report. The average 8-year-old isn\u2019t far behind with eight hours of screen usage.
