Dan Granger is the CEO and founder of Oxford Road, the leading independently owned ad agency specializing in audio channels such as podcasts, radio, streaming and more. In 2013, he launched Oxford Road to great success and continues to shape the massive emerging podcasting ecosystem.\n\nThis Episode\u2019s Heavy-hitter\u2019s:\nDan\u2019s interest in media started with writing controversial editorials when he was young in school. Later, while working a job that required him to drive tapes around town, Dan fell in love with the format of talk radio.\n\nOne of the first clients Dan had was LegalZoom. He convinced them to advertise on a legal advice podcast, where the idea was to pair the product they offered with an audience that already had a presumable need and interest in that very niche setting.\n\nWhile working at IHeartRadio, Dan gave a \u201cTalk Radio 2.0\u201d presentation where he forecasted a lot of what ended up happening in the podcasting ad industry. Unfortunately, the timing was early and the radio companies he worked for weren\u2019t ready to follow the trend.\n\nA major break for Dan was placing radio advertisers on Adam Carolla\u2019s podcast, who was an early innovator in the space.
