T\u0101maki Makaurau is\xa0bouncing back\xa0after a chaotic few\xa0years, but still playing catch-up to other global cities.

The\xa0second\xa0annual\xa0State of the\xa0City report released today\xa0shows housing affordability and transport infrastructure are lagging behind.

It calls for significant investment and planning to kickstart projects with the speed, scale and coordination required.

Business of Cities Managing Director Tim Moonen\xa0told Mike Hosking\xa0Auckland re-entered the global economy later than nearly every city of its size.
