Risky business

This week's take on Scottish politics definitely has risk at its core.

A minutes silence at 11 this morning for Workers' Memorial Day was dedicated to key staff in the NHS and care system. But were they put in danger by UK government negligence over the supply of PPE?

When we compare how small countries, such as New Zealand, have handled the Covid 19 pandemic will the Scottish government risk going its own way if theĀ  UK Cabinet insists on ending lockdown prematurely?

Will a definitively different Scottish approach be a tipping point swinging undecideds to support Scottish independence?Or will an apparent inbuilt tendency towards caution within the SNP hierarchy hold sway?

We ask if lockdown can be eased or ended without a rigorous , trace, contact ,test regime and vaccination programme.

Nicola Sturgeon's personal stock is on the rise but what risk will the imminent publication of Alex Salmond's book on his trial pose, if any, to her and the SNP?

Along the way we also look at the murmurings from the Scottish political sidelines of the opposition parties over the handling of the pandemic and that Andrew Marr interview.

There's also a startling series of revelations aboutĀ  tempers technologies and, Schrodinger's Dick.
