They've been trying to get ahead in chip mfrg, but it’s hard. Taiwan is so good; what the US should do is create excellent economic relations with Taiwan and buy from there. The reason the US is better at designed—Intel, Nvidia, AMD—and Taiwan is better at mfrg.
