On today’s episode, Meredith Angwin, author of Campaigning for Clean Air: Strategies for Pro-Nuclear Advocacy, visits The Global Energy Leaders Podcast to shed some light on strategies for pro-nuclear advocacy.

Meredith Angwin has a M.S. in physical chemistry from University of Chicago.  She was one of the first women to be a project manager at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) She was a project manager in renewable energy and then in nuclear energy.  In her long scientific career, she has also worked on fossil fuel systems: she is an  inventor on two patents for controlling pollution from gas-fired combustion systems.

She is a passionate advocate for nuclear energy: her support of the Vermont Yankee plant has been described as “legendary” by other nuclear advocates. For her outreach work, she was awarded the American Nuclear Society President’s Citation. She blogs, speaks to groups, debates nuclear opponents, and has led several rallies.  Meredith also looks beyond nuclear toward the stability of the electric grid. She is currently one of two Vermont representatives to a key advisory group for the New England grid operator.

Her most recently published book is Campaigning for Clean Air: Strategies for Pro-Nuclear Advocacy, available in Kindle and paperback.   This book provides thoughts, action items, tips and plans for people who want to support nuclear energy.
