One thing we're not used to seeing when it comes to contentious court battles are the sides agreeing.\xa0 \xa0Well, in a new filing up in Moscow, that's exactly what we have as a stipulated motion has been filed where both sides agree that files need to be sealed when they hit the docket, due to the risk of potential damage to witnesses or even the threat of death.\xa0 \xa0\xa0

In this episode, we take a look at the newest request made of Judge Judge and what it means moving forward.

What is a stipulated motion?

A stipulated motion in a court case refers to a request made by both parties involved in the litigation to the court. Unlike a regular motion where parties may oppose each other, in a stipulated motion, both sides agree on the terms and conditions presented in the motion. This agreement is often documented in writing and signed by both parties, outlining their mutual consent to the proposed action or resolution. Stipulated motions are commonly used to streamline court proceedings, resolve minor issues, or settle matters without the need for a formal hearing or adjudication by the judge. They can cover various aspects of a case, such as scheduling, procedural matters, or agreed-upon actions. Once the court approves the stipulated motion, it becomes a court order and is binding on both parties.
