Heather has reported from\\xa0the US border with Mexico many times, but this time she spent with border patrol agents was different.
"I was with them when they were apprehending families. I saw several families that as soon as they got over the border and border patrol took them into custody there were just tears streaming down their faces \\u2013 one dad in particular and it was very moving and the border patrol agents were saying \\u2018You\\u2019re safe, you\\u2019re safe\\u2019,\\u201d she recalls.
"And in my mind, and I\\u2019m thinking the family\\u2019s minds, they\\u2019re thinking \'yes, thank God\\xa0I\\u2019m safe right now. I just made it past all that danger and violence in my home country and in Mexico,\' but of course, they don\\u2019t know their future\\u2026 and there\\u2019s a very good chance they\\u2019ll be sent back to Mexico.\\u201d
