On today's 'BradCast':\xa0 We are finally beginning to hear, at least from some in the media, about the unprecedented depth of the crisis that the coronavius pandemic could wreak on the American lives and the economy. Top White House economists warned the Trump Administration about this exact scenario last fall, as a different analysis suggests the global economic downturn could continue into 2021, and it could take years to recover from what is shaping up to be "a financial crisis of cataclysmic proportions" with historic unemployment. Florida's mini-Trump Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has finally given up the Fox "News" denial ghost and issued a statewide stay-at-home order. Wisconsin's Gov. Tony Evers (D) has also issued statewide stay-at-home orders, but is inexplicably supporting the GOP-controlled state legislature's decision to hold the state's presidential primary (including other important races) next Tuesday anyway, despite massive pollworker shortages. WI state election officials warn severe staffing shortages could mean many absentee ballots may not arrive in time, and might not be counted at all. Elections officials in all 50 states should be working now to ensure they can safely, transparently and accurately manage statewide Vote-by-Mail elections for the ever-more-critical election in November. Meanwhile, centrist Democrats argued during the still-ongoing Democratic presidential primary that most Americans want to keep their employer-based health insurance. Now that millions are losing both their jobs and health insurance, is that still the case?
