In Georgia, Republican state lawmakers are maneuvering to effectively give themselves total control over elections and results. MARILYN MARKS of the Coalition on Good Governance sounds the alarm bell, explaining how GA's new legislation would enact dozens of new restrictions, including limiting early voting days for large counties, adding ID requirements to absentee ballots, and banning people from giving food and water to voters waiting in long lines. Marks also reveals two insidious new measures that the state's Republican lawmakers are trying to jam through, including a new provision to allow the partisan State Board of Elections to undermine or even reverse elections results in any county, for virtually any reason, and a measure that knowingly degrades the state's gold-standard mail-in ballot authentication system in ways that will actually make it easier to commit absentee ballot fraud.
