'BradCast' 1/25/2021 (How Trump planned to steal the election -- and came really REALLY close!)
On today's 'BradCast':\xa0 The hyperactive news cycle has not slowed down since Donald Trump finally left office.\xa0 Over the weekend, astonishing new reports revealed just how stunningly close the (thankfully) former president Trump came to succeeding in stealing the election, and Dominion Voting Systems has filed another $1.3 billion defamation suit filed against another Team Trump liar and lawyer, Rudy Giuliani. Dominion charges that Giuliani fueled Trump's 'Big Lie' about the election, and repeatedly, falsely claimed, without evidence, that Dominion systems were somehow used to steal the election from Trump. Giuliani's central false claim is based on a wildly bastardized and mangled version of a deep-dive investigative exclusive from The BRAD BLOG that we published more than 10 years ago. We are not fans of private voting companies and believe they have\xa0 no place in our PUBLIC elections, but Dominion is right to sue for the libelous falsehoods repeatedly told by Team Trump. Those lies served as the basis for a gob-smacking, last minute plot by Trump to install a lackey as Acting US Attorney General who could wield the powers of the US Dept. of Justice to attempt to reverse the 2020 Presidential election results in one or more states. Trump's plot was successfully blocked by a handful of top DOJ officials before he pulled the trigger that could have resulted in the stolen election he was seeking. The details are as stunning as the plot itself, and underscore how the two-week delay until Trump's second impeachment trial begins in the U.S. Senate could lead to more revelations of wrongdoing by the disgraced, now former President.
