Chair Jacques Shore on launching Library & Archives Canada's new Foundation

Jacques Shore is a partner in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office, a member of the firm's Advocacy Group, and past leader of the firm's Government Affairs Group.\u200b He has acted as lead negotiator on many business and government-related initiatives and\xa0has worked actively on behalf of the federal government of Canada and provincial governments on a broad range of legal and public policy matters\u200b, including cultural policy.\xa0 \xa0 Actively involved in the community, Jacques is a past chair of Carleton University's board of governors and its executive committee and served as a board governor for thirteen years\u200b. In addition he served as chair of the Distinguished Council of Advisors of the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. Jacques \u200bis \u200bcurrently\u200b \u200bthe Chair of the Library Archives Canada (LAC) Foundation (April 2019 to present).\u200b \u200bHe is \u200balso \u200bcounsel to Amazon, providing legal, government relations, and strategic advice to the compan\u200by, something I stupidly failed to ask him about.\xa0 \xa0 I\u200b did however hit him with quite a few questions about \u200bthe \u200bneed, \u200bpurpose,\u200b mission, and plans of the new Library and Archives Canada Foundation and the people involved.\xa0
