b'Recently, new evidence for Neolithic fabric was found impressed on a sherd in\\nthe Orkney Islands. In an area where the environment is not conducive to\\npreservation of textile, archaeologists must look for evidence in unconventional\\nways. Recently, a team from The University of the Highlands and the Islands in\\nScotland used Reflectance Transformation Imaging (RTI) to identify the\\nimpression of woven fabric on a sherd. Chris and Rachel discuss the fabric\\nimpression, how it could have been made, and what the broader implication are of\\nthis discovery.\\nLinks\\n * "Rare evidence for Neolithic Textiles identified on Orkney", Science Notes,\\n Current Archaeology, July 17, 2020\\n [https://www.archaeology.co.uk/articles/science-notes-rare-evidence-for-neolithic-textiles-identified-on-orkney.htm]\\n * Textiles and Animal Skins from ScARF\\n [https://scarf.scot/national/scarf-neolithic-panel-report/5-material-culture-and-use-of-resources/5-3-organics/5-3-3-textiles-and-animal-skins/]\\n * Flint Howe, Luce Sands\\n [https://canmore.org.uk/site/61304/flint-howe-luce-sands]\\n\\nSupport\\n * Archaeology Southwest\\n [https://www.archaeologysouthwest.org/things-to-do/cafe/]\\n\\nContact\\n * Chris Webster\\n * chris@archaeologypodcastnetwork.com\\n\\nAffiliates\\n * Wildnote [http://www.wildnoteapp.com/]\\n * TeePublic [https://www.teepublic.com/?ref_id=5724&ref_type=aff]\\n * Timeular [https://timeular.com/ref/chriswebster/]\\n\\nFind this show on the educational podcast app, Lyceum.fm!
