Korean Buzzwords: 만찢남, 만찢녀 & 개취 (Comic Books and Tastes?)

Published: Nov. 3, 2016, 9:52 a.m.

In the new autumn season of Catch The Wave, Hyunwoo and Jaemin introduce a couple of Korean buzzwords each week! This week we talk about 만찢남, 만찢녀 and 개취. 만찢남 is short for 만화를 찢고 나온 남자 (a man who tore out of a comic book) and 만찢녀 means 만화를 찢고 나온 여자 (a woman who tore out of a comic book), both of which mean someone really (almost perfectly) beautiful. 개취 is short for 개인 취향, and it means personal preference or personal taste.
