Today's episode features Mandy Frazier! She's a PhD student at UC Davis, and she studies Antarctic fishes! She's done a lot of fisheries research but for the purposes of this episode she's going to tell us all about how Antarctic fishes manage stress in the face of changing conditions, like with ocean acidification. She's also done a season of diving in Antarctica, and the story of how that came about was totally enthralling to me, so enjoy that. I am always curious about the logistics of people's research and so she tells me all about how they catch the fish, what kind of experiments they did at McMurdo, and samples they collected for future and continued research.
