He was tossed overboard the breaking ship.\\xa0 It was night.\\xa0 The torches from the ship were drowned.\\xa0 The stars and the moon were blocked by storm clouds.\\xa0 The only light to see by was lightning.\\xa0 It was by chance that he surfaced that first time.\\xa0 He struggled to tread and to see anything he might hang on to.\\xa0 Lightning flashed and he saw nothing but waves.\\xa0 They pushed him up and pulled him down.\\xa0 And one of them loomed above him.\\xa0 In vain, he pumped his arms and tried to swim away.\\xa0 The wave descended and swallowed him.

A sailor, tossed overboard during a storm and fated to drown, is rescued by a people who live on the seafloor and who make grand plans for him.
