The gods were fallen.\\xa0 It took many generations for humankind to learn of this.\\xa0 Many prophecies and visions.\\xa0 Many failed quests by heroes and explorers who sought to find the truth of those prophecies and visions.\\xa0 It was not known how or when it had happened, and perhaps a few gods still lived, but it was well-known by Damario\\u2019s time that the gods had fallen.

And they left chaos in their wake, a chaos that followed from the unraveling of everything that the gods\\u2014for all their faults\\u2014had held together.
