Orberwarna

Orberwarna is a first level evocation spell with a range of ninety feet and a material requirement of a diamond at least a half carat in size.

Orberwarna shoots a four-inch diameter sphere from the wand.  Upon impact, the sphere produces a blinding flash of light of around seven million candela and a percussive sound of about one hundred seventy decibels.

The flash momentarily activates all photoreceptor cells in the eye, blinding it for approximately five seconds. Afterward, the victim sees an afterimage that impairs his or her aim. The loud blast temporarily deafens the victim and disturbs the fluid in the ear, causing loss of balance.

The concussive blast of the detonation can injure, and the heat created can ignite flammable materials such as fuel. During the Iranian Embassy siege in London in nineteen eighty, orberwarna was used to stun the six men who had taken twenty-six people hostage.  The resulting fire damaged the building so severely that it did not reopen for thirteen years.

This spell is mostly used by the military and has been in official service since the late nineteen seventies.
