One of the most successful and prolific writers and producers of all time, Desmond Child\u2019s songs have resulted in nearly six dozen Top 40 singles on\xa0Billboard\u2019s pop, rock, country, and R&B charts. His band Desmond Child & Rouge attracted the attention of Paul Stanley. He partnered with Child to write \u201cI Was Made For Loving You,\u201d which became a major hit for KISS in 1979. Desmond first collaborated with Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora for Bon Jovi\u2019s 1986 album,\xa0Slippery When Wet. That partnership resulted in the #1 hits, \u201cYou Give Love a Bad Name\u201d and \u201cLivin\u2019 on a Prayer.\u201d Desmond has appeared as a co-writer on every Bon Jovi album since, co-writing additional hits such as \u201cBad Medicine,\u201d \u201cBorn To Be My Baby,\u201d \u201cThis Ain\u2019t a Love Song,\u201d and \u201c(You Want To) Make a Memory.\u201d He formed a similar alliance with Aerosmith, with whom he wrote the hits \u201cDude (Looks Like a Lady),\u201d \u201cAngel,\u201d \u201cWhat It Takes,\u201d and \u201cCrazy.\u201d He co-wrote Joan Jett\u2019s \u201cI Hate Myself for Loving You\u201d and all of the tracks on Alice Cooper\u2019s wildly successful\xa0Trash\xa0LP, including the hit single \u201cPoison.\u201d Not limited to the rock world, Child began branching out, co-writing pop songs such as Michael Bolton\u2019s \u201cHow Can We Be Lovers,\u201d as well as co-writing and producing \u201cJust Like Jesse James\u201d and \u201cWe All Sleep Alone\u201d for Cher. In the late 1990s, he returned to his Latin roots, joining forces with Ricky Martin and scoring with several singles, inluding the #1 worldwide smash, \u201cLivin\u2019 La Vida Loca.\u201d Among the many others artists who\u2019ve recoded his songs are Cyndi Lauper, Megadeth, Ratt, Hanson, Robbie Williams, Roxette, Boyzone, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Bonnie Tyler, Hilary Duff, Vince Neil, Lindsay Lohan, Jonas Brothers, Meat Loaf, Scorpions, Sebastian Bach, INXS, Kelly Clarkson, Joss Stone, and Weezer. He was inducted to the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2008 and is the Chairman and CEO of the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame.
