Episode 530: California's Al Fontes For over 40 years, California’s Bill Grant has hosted the Monterey Clinic of Champions. From October 25-27, Grant again hosts what’s become one of the most impressive collections of clinicians, not just around the country, but around the world.
This year will be no different. I’m Hall of Fame wrestling writer and broadcaster Jason Bryant and today on the Short Time Wrestling Podcast, I’ll talk with Al Fontes, the Editor of The California Wrestler website and longtime colleague of the clinic’s founder Bill Grant to talk about the stories behind both the clinic and the clinicians who come every year. Bill’s face down in work with the clinic, so Al will again, come to the aid of his friend, which is a theme that began with the two over 20 years ago.
This year's clinicians include Daniel Cormier, Dimitar Georgiev, Ivan Ivanov, Marco Sanchez, Josh Rhoden, Sam Lopez and Daryl Weber. Information on the clinic and its history can be found at montereyclinicofchampions.com It’s the news, reviews, previews and interviews in and around the sport of wrestling, because you’ve always got time for Short Time.
