World Rugby investing $12m into women's competition

A landmark global women's rugby competition has been launched by World Rugby. The governing body announced it is investing more than $12 million to run a meaningful three-tier championship which will provide a much-needed test schedule for all the leading nations from 2023. The announcement comes a week after the World Cup to be hosted by New Zealand this year, was pushed back to late 2022 because of the pandemic. New Zealand Rugby's head of women's rugby development Cate Sexton spoke to Corin Dann.
