Hundreds of Kaimanawa horses could be culled if homes aren't found

Nearly 200 Kaimanawa horses could be culled this year. 2020's muster to remove the wild horses from the Kaimanawa ranges was cancelled last year due to Covid-19 restrictions, leaving the herd well over the allowed level. People who might be interested in taking one of the horses is being urged to act swiftly, in the hopes of averting a mass cull. Marilyn Jenks is from the Kaimanawa Heritage Horses Welfare Society.
