A technology expert believes the long-awaited Bluetooth Covid Card as it was originally envisioned is likely dead in the water. The Government first ordered trials of the bluetooth tracing technology in August, the latest finishing in December at the Bay Plaza MIQ facility. The report on that trial is yet to be made public. Dr Andrew Chen from the University of Auckland's Koi Tu: Centre for Informed Futures, told political reporter Charlie Dreaver the card is unlikely to happen given bluetooth has been added to the tracer app.
