Sturgill Simpson released his first album in 2013 to little fanfare. His second album, released in 2104, was nominated for a Best Americana Album Grammy and his third album nabbed a Best Country Album Grammy in 2017/
He's drawn comparisons to Waylon Jennings and the Outlaw Country genre while incorporating far ranging influences into his music ranging from Snoop Dogg, The Cars, and Otis Redding.
He just released his 5th album, Cuttin' Grass, consisting of bluegrass renditions of his earlier songs.
