In 1945, a man named Lloyd Olsen tried to behead a chicken, but didn\u2019t get a clean cut. The whole head came off, except for the brain stem, which remained intact. They learned it could be kept alive by feeding it food and water directly into its esophagus and it later became a national phenomenon.
