OP went outside and the usual noisy sounds that the various critters make at night were nonexistent/silent. They noticed something moving in the woods and it was coming toward them, which they at first thought was a rabbit, until a rock the size of a cantaloupe came hurling out of the woods and landed in some shrubs next to them.
